It provides statistics about gear ratio's, sizes, centering and such and is a fun, easy to use virtually drag and drop for mechanism creation. In addition, it has a 3D graphic simulation that allows user to think about how to make a device, or determine other factors he may want to consider.

Some gear types, such as Helical or Bevels will be limited in output to 4th axis Gcode and STLs and 3d-dxfs only. Bevels can be output in Straight, Helix or Zerol formats, spur gears may also use helical outputs and all of the created 2d gear types can then be exported into a DXF's, 1:1 scale printouts, STL files for 3d printing, 3d solids for various CAD usage, and finally G-Code for mill users. Currently, we can generate most of the existing gear types found today such as spurs, lantern and pinions, imaginary gears, elliptical, timing pulleys, bevel to escapement and deadbeat gears. Our goal is to continue developing Gearotic Motion hoping it can become the utility program of choice for those jobs that otherwise can be quite complex to do in CAD. Primarily the software is designed as a 3D Gear Template generator, but as the program has developed it has progressed to having the ability to also generate some escapements for clocks. Welcome to Gearotic Motion/s help tutorial for version 4.6xx.
